A quilt

Bella is desperate to sleep in a bed. She still fits comfortably in her cot, but each night she snuggles with her 'doudous' in Sam's bed hoping that I'll let her stay there. So whilst we wait patiently for Scott to make her a bed of her own, I made her a quilt. A very simple quilt - no fancy stitching. The best bit about it was that it cost just 3 euros from fabric I found at the charity shop!

  1. We're about to change from a cot to a bed too, and I've been looking around for quilt covers. So I can say with complete confidence, that that is THE.BEST.QUILT.GOING. Clever lady! Kellie xx

  3. Sometimes simple is so much better. I rather like the unbound edge look. Love the fabric. Something she will be sure to treasure for many years.
I'm hoping to start a little quilt making this year. I just ordered a couple of books to give me some idea into the process.

  4. It's pretty and your little girl is going to love it as it spells 'My Own Bed Soon' loud and clear!

  5. Those prints are amazing, I wish I could make a quilt, it's lovely. No chance of getting my 2yo into his own bed yet, he won't get out of mine! :)

  6. I love it! Especially the underside with those bright pops of color to peek out.

Both of my girls did NOT want to give up their cribs. They both slept in them until at least age 3. My oldest was even potty trained before she would give up her crib and in the middle of the night she would climb over the rails, go to the bathroom and then climb back in. CPS would probably take me away if they knew that, but she wanted nothing to do with a "big girl" bed.

  13. What a great find! When I went shopping a couple of weekends ago I was on the lookout for a good quilt cover because L. is becoming too big for his "gigoteuse" + he will be moving to a big boy bed when we move into our new flat, but I found nothing (within a reasonable price range at least). Making your own sounds way more fun, especially with such amazing fabric for EUR 3!
