We are freezing here and it just keeps getting worse. It reached -9 last night and -4 today. First, the pipes froze upstairs, so no shower, bath or loo then the washing machine packed in, followed by the electric radiator and to top it off the hot water boiler has started leaking and water is coming through the ceiling to downstairs. There is a thick layer of ice inside the windows too.
The roads are clear, so I took Sam to school as it lovely and warm there. They have central heating! Off to find buckets and towels to catch the leaks. What fun !
Yikes! Such beautiful pictures but you are suffering through the cold weather. Hope you get your water situation sorted soon. Hurry up Spring!!
ReplyDelete(I do love the coloured pom pom garland)
Sam
Did the water really freeze into your house? Hope you'll find someone to fix everything, and that you'll have radiator and water again, soon!
ReplyDeleteoh poor you. i keep trying to complain about it over here but after reading this and my norwegian blog friend in -19 i'd better just keep my mouth shut! hovering around -1 here i think.
ReplyDeleteoh you poor things!! at first i thought how beautiful it is there all white and frosty, but not if you can't warm up inside. bella is so cute at the window...
ReplyDeleteYou have ALL my sympathy! I wish I could come out and help you... whereabouts in France are you, by the way?
ReplyDeleteI hope you get it sorted soon. And there I was feeling grumpy because I am stuck at home with a toddler with an ear infection. Get things into perspective Stephanie!
Oh dear! Give the little ones a big warm hug from us x x
ReplyDeleteoooh! you must be cold. stay warm under all those cozy blankets you find!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Hope you'll get everything fixed soon, that sounds terrible!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Andrea you poor love. Bloody cold weather. Hope you can get this sorted. Snow and frost look nice but from a warm home, not one that's just as cold in as out. Hope the weekend can bring you help to get it sorted. Sending you warm thoughts. Lou xxx
ReplyDelete-9 ... no way. Hope you have lots of thick socks to keep you warm.
ReplyDeleteoh dear lord, how do you go about defrosting your pipes?
ReplyDeleteI have to say -10 was my favourite winter temperature in Frankfurt, so long as it was sunny. but then my flat was toasty and the pipes never froze.
OH NOOOOO!!!! It is so true...when it rains it pours. Literally in your case. I'm so sorry to hear about all these little disasters!
ReplyDeleteThe picture in my collage of the green walls with the water dripping out? That was the run-off pipe of our leaking hot water heater pouring outside, thank goodness! Our water heater is located in our ATTIC so we were very lucky that it ran out that pipe and not down our ceilings!!!
Big Hugs!
