Baking

A little baking with Bella. Mary Berry scones - the recipe I found online. These didn't turn out great because she clearly states not to over work the mixture. It's difficult to explain to a 2 yr old who loves to mix, to stop mixing. I think next time I will give Bella a cake mixture (egg, butter, flour) whilst I lightly work the scones.

  1. I have failed miserably every time I make scones.
I will admit like Bella I may over do the mixture.

  2. Oh but she will remember this, eventually she won't mix so much! We use the cake mixes sometimes as they are quick and handy. They don't smell as lovely as real scones tho! You know I love that table of yours pictured so perfectly here! Jxx

  4. The mixing thing gets us every time too! No muffins or scones - they all turn out rubbery with a toddler at the spoon. I think cakes would go well. The more mixing the better!! x

  5. Never made scones with "help" from the kids - will bear this post in mind when I do! They do love to mix, don't they?? But your scones still look delicious. You've got me wanting to bake some now! x

  8. Aw, but sometimes the process is the best bit. Do you ever make the yoghurt cake I hear all French kids learn at an early age? I tried, until my toddler threw the book into the cake mix.
