A dress for Bella...
I used some of my vintage fabric stash to make Bella a tunic/dress. The first ever piece of clothing I have ever made. I'm quite pleased with it. I didn't follow a pattern - I just traced another dress onto the fabric. Don't look too closely, there are loads of mistakes and I need to tidy the hems. I used a stripy sheet to line the dress too. Next time I think I'll use a pattern!
I love looking for vintage fabrics and enjoy putting together differents patterns as I did with the cushion cover. Sam was also enjoying using the sewing machine (sat on my knee) and my box of buttons, but that's another post.... x

ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic Andrea, and she is such a cutie!! I used to sew quite a bit, and made both my kids' clothes until they were about 2 or 3. I am ashamed to say, I've not done anything like that since, unless of course making curtains counts!! :-)
ReplyDeleteoh, congrats on your first piece of clothing! sewing for girls is addicting. the fabric is lovely... and i love your confidence in cutting into the vintage fabric without a pattern. i see lots of cute little garments in your and her future!
