Foraging

Yesterday, I went for a forage down the garden. Armed with gloves and basket, my mission was to pick young nettles to make nettle tea (after reading a post from Earth Mama) and then use the boiled nettles to add to this pesto recipe recommended by Catherine.

The result was marvellous! Each month for 3 days I suffer from a migraine. Yesterday was day one and I was a little fed up. I hadn't intended to drink nettle tea to cure my migraine, but 10 minutes after drinking a cup my migraine was completely gone and hasn't returned. Perhaps phycological...? I don't know, but it worked and that's all that matters :)

The pesto was a huge success. I will make this again and have a stash in the fridge. Just the energy boost I needed.

Now, what to do with all that borage...?

I am so glad you are feeling better.
If it's the tea, go for it!!!
If it's not, go for it anyway!!! :-)

  6. Wow, your Garden is beautiful. What a fantastic foraging ground! I'd love to find out if you the nettle tea works for you for a second time. I get three day migraines quite often too, not really bad ones, but enough to be glad if I never got another one!

  7. It's all so lovely! your gardens are so lush and pretty. I was so interested to learn about the nettles helping your migraines, that's something I'd never heard of. I don't get them but it's good to know, for future. I'm so glad you were helped. I wonder if your nettles are the same as our "stinging" ones.
    beautiful photos andrea!
