Chasing chickens

A couple of weeks ago we let the chickens free from their pen. They'd been locked back up whilst Bella was crawling during the summer. I felt guilty seeing them unable to potter about the garden and the amount of eggs had diminished too. Sign of chicken depression! Bella and Sam were happy to have them following them again - or them following the chickens is probably more correct.

  1. big, big love for this post!!! Oh my! Your chickens are beautiful. Just like your kiddos. They look SO big next to Bella. So cute! How many chickens do you have? And how many eggs do they lay? We're still waiting for ours to start laying.

  2. This reminds me of my childhood, running after my grandma's rabbits. We had so much fun back then! :) Nice to see that there are still kids having fun like this these days, with pure and simple things.

  7. I really want a couple of chickens but we're probably going to wait until lalie is up and walking... for the moment, we get fresh eggs from my Dad's...and Lalie stares wide eyed at them. It's so cute :)

  8. I like to see children running after chikens! :) We don't have some, but my Granny does, so they're not so far from home.. About the fact that they gave less eggs this summer, it can also be for the heat you know? When it's too hot (or too cold) they can stop laying..

  9. I was visiting family in the country on the weekend and my cousin had chickens. It was nice watching our children playing in the backyard with all the chickens around them.

I would love to keep chickens, but I think our dogs would try and eat them!
