Green

There's definitely a green theme going on here. The garden is looking much healthier with all the rain for the last two weeks. The wind dropped and the sun shone late afternoon in our little yard. Sam wanted to jump from walls and chairs and Bella grabbed her bucket to collect strawberries - which aren't quite ready so she filled it with mud instead. I hope the second week of the school holidays is going to be a sunny one.

Monsieur le cow

A few days ago I set to work on making Bella a pair of trousers. Within two minutes Sam had hijacked the project, presenting me a cow softie pattern from Meet me at Mikes Crafty Journal book.

It was a fun project and and is made of scraps of a vintage pillow case, Bella's old dress and shop bought fabric. Sam loved it as a puppet (the next project maybe?) and the finished product is now tucked up in bed with him.

Everybody out it's stopped raining!

We had a good half an hour outside before there was a loud crack of thunder and another heavy shower. A quick trip around the garden to witness what had changed. The apple blossoms are out, the tomatoes are struggling with these low temperatures even in the green house and the wisteria is creeping across the house. Spring is trying to make an appearance!

These photos depict the nature of our days lately. We've been out and about recently, although it's difficult to take photos in this dreadful weather. Projects have been suddenly abandoned in preference of the sun and puddles the size of small ponds must be splashed in. It's safe to say we are going with the flow. Happy to have our days determined by the weather in this rainy season.

Chalk and Dungarees

Whilst sheltering from showers, storms and hail, we had fun with chalk. Sam loves to draw and write and Bella obsessively cleans the chalk off. Any excuse to play with water.

The super cute Osh-kosh dungarees arrived  - thank you Whitney :)

This week

It's been a cold and showery week. Even so, the week has flown by and it's the start of our school holidays. I'm hoping the weather will be kind to us so we can go out and about or it may be all play fighting like the last photo!

School run

On the journey home from school I stopped to take a few photos of the never ending fields of yellow rape flowers. Glorious! And we had to stop to say "allo babies" to the lambs too, though the mamas weren't too pleased.

A swap between blog buddies

I received a parcel from Barcelona yesterday. It was from Anna. We did a little handmade/tea/goodie swap. The parcel was full of lovely things - I loved everything, thank you Anna :)

Please stop to have a look at her shop (she makes gorgeous jewellery) and her blog.
