Date day







I spent all day with my husband today. A rare treat and with both children at school. Our actual reason for this was to apply for and complete long overdue French paperwork - so we took this as an excuse for morning coffee (then waiting in queues) and lunch in peace! I love lunch time menus in France. They are such good value. I also like the fact that usually there isn't much choice. You must go with what ingredients they use on the day - in a good restaurant/bar anyway.

    What a brilliant way to deal with tedious paperwork, I'm going to do that next time we're dreading some boring admin task. One of the best meals I've ever had was a lunch of French Onion soup in a tiny Bistro in Paris...it was so delicious I can almost taste it now just thinking about it! Rachel x

    Sounds like a nice day, bar the paperwork! There's nothing I love more than a restaurant with a short menu, if only places here were more like France. A few dishes cooked well with fresh ingredients.

    Gosh, a date day - sounds lovely. We haven't had one of those in a while. We have parents' evening at The Boy's nursery tomorrow but that's not quite the same is it :-) x
