Down by the river

An autumn family walk down to the river and only one child tantrum - I shan't name names (bella). I love our weekly walks - the best part being the nice cup of tea at the end.

Our holiday

Our holiday was cut short by a few days due to the awful weather, but what we had were enjoyed.
We stopped at my mum and step-dads house in the Lot region overnight. It was actually the nicest weather. The children ran around the village, walked up to the castle and a quick trip into town. Sam loves going to the bar - usually the only chance he gets to drink coke.

We finally stopped at a lovely campsite near Marseille. It had everything - even a lovely bay. Such a shame the weather took at cold turn. Sam was off at every opportunity making new friends. It was a joy to watch him babbling away in French. Bella follows him everywhere doing her little dances, aiming to catch others attention. Can't wait until next time!

Our Easter weekend

We had a perfect Easter weekend. Amidst sniffles and snuffles the children had a great time with 4 egg hunts! We had a small one in our garden where the easter bunny had deposited the eggs from my parents (Sam is happy despite the look on his face!) followed by a second in the afternoon held by our neighbours - each year they hide small eggs and bonbons under their huge fir tree.

Monday, there was a easter egg hunt at the village sports field. Little people running frantically in search of eggs...fun! Sam filled his bag with chocolate eggs and later gave some of his eggs to the smaller children who didn't find as many. I love that he is so kindhearted like that.

Finally, Monday afternoon we went to our friends house for another egg hunt and the sun came out. It was a very nice end to a lovely weekend...and the children wore my bunny hats....(and I ate too many chocolate cornflake cakes).

11/52

A portrait of my children once a week every week during 2013.

Bella : working with her daddy in the garden preparing the raised beds.
Sam :   tired and a bit mucky from playing football.

Joining Jodi for the 52 project.

Snow

Fun in the snow! It was perfect and beautiful. The highlight of the day was Scott flinging huge snowballs down the hill to the children. They thought it was hilarious. The downside was Bella getting a shovel load of snow in her face - yes we know you didn't see her, Sam. The amount of wet clothes strung about the house is irrelevant. It was worth it.

Our Christmas

We had a lovely Christmas. And even though it was just the four of us on the day, the children were given lovely presents from our family and Santa of course. Some of their presents included lego, puzzles, colouring books, cars, a magic wand, a wendy house, a tipi (made by me), and a quad! I think it turned out quite well - trying to forget the fact I bought a large cockrel instead of a turkey! Looked like a turkey to me, but I will never live it down.

Bits and pieces

A rather wonky dress for Bella. Will do better next time! I had to add extra fabric to the bottom a few days later as it was too short.

Eating healthy food. I've replaced cows milk with soya now. Such a big difference. Less potatoes and meat too.

A not so healthy chocolate cake, although it did contain almonds instead of flour!

Much puddle jumping activity. Say no more....

Sam's latest obsession is with building lego robots online at herofactory.

Family drawing and maths session. Sam shares his teacher with the next year up and whilst Sam's class is doing workbook activities the older year are doing maths. Sam told us he finishes his work as quickly as possible so he can listen to the maths lesson. So Scott has been doing simple maths with Sam (Sam's request) in the evening.
